Deforestation It is lead to believe that deforestation is the second worst thing that is causing climate change according to the United Nations. A forest in Sumatra, Indonesia is getting cleared up to make more room for palm oil plantation. Everyone in this world relies on the forests with around 1.25 billion residents whether it's for food, water, or shelter. It's expected that the forests provide everyone in the United States with goods and services, costing up to $75-100 billion per year. With all the forest fires happening, it is killing so many forests making it harder to provide the goods that we all need. The forests also produces humans with stuff like lumber so that way furniture, and paper products are created. With deforestation, it removes vegetation that is left over, and removes carbon dioxide that is polluted into the air. What's the Plan for New England, and the People Worldwide?

What's going on in New England? Currently, Massachusetts is coming up with a plan to raise their gas prices so that way it will produce less carbon emissions into the air, after 11 other states doing so. They are in hopes that New Hampshire and Vermont will do the same. Usually, if a driver sees that the gas prices at one gas station are too high, they will drive somewhere else to find prices that are lower. With raising the gas prices, people would be less apt to spend as much at the gas station and drive around as much. Massachusetts' plan is to raise the prices on gas so it can benefit the environment, and the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority). If the gas prices were raised, people would be spending a certain portion of that money towards the gas they are fueling their car with, and some of it would go towards the MBTA to help benefit public transportation. PLASTIC People use plastic everyday. But do they realize how much it's effecting our planet? Plastic bags are made with petroleum. Petroleum for those who don't know is natural gases and other chemicals. It is toxic towards our environment, which means it's poisonous. Plastic can be prevented in all sorts of ways. There are many alternatives like using reusable bags, not getting a plastic cup or straw when you go places. Next time you want to buy a plastic item, think where it might end up next. There is potential that it could even end up inside your body in certain cases. The world is our home. All the animals, mountains, forests, national parks, lakes and oceans are what makes this world so amazing. Everything in this world was created for a reason, and now it's all getting destroyed. People don't think about how big of a impact their trash can have on the environment. Day after day, more and more trash are being thrown on this earth. There are so many ways people can help. It starts with you, and right now. Together, everyone can help improve the economy one step at a time. A little contribution from everyone can make a HUGE difference. It can all start with recycling. If you recycle, the plastic will be transformed into other products, instead of getting placed in the ocean and killing ocean animals causing them to sufficate and die.
